Creating A Link Building Blog

As an Xsitepro user I’m always interested in looking at different methods of getting links pointed to my website. I’m sure you’re interested in building links also, so it makes sense to look at all methods possible. One method of getting links to your site fast is by setting up a link building blog. All xsitepro users should be setting up a network of blogs and static websites in an effort to develop links from good quality sites. Below is an article that talks about link building….I hope you’ll consider some of the ideas regarding the various methods of using and creating a link building blog!

How to Obtain a Link building Blog?

Chain Links

Do you have a link building blog? If not, this is a good time to start putting together a strategy that will get you consistent incoming links to your blog. Incoming links and internal links are extremely important when it comes to getting your site ranked highly in the search engines so it’s something that you’re going to have to dedicate some time (and possibly money) towards.

Just as the links of a chain connect one point to another, webpage links connect your website or blog to the world. The more links you have ….the more important your blog appears to search engines such as Google. Consequently, many seo experts spend a good amount of time increasing the links to a website in an effort to make it look attractive to Big G ….hoping to bring in a flood of traffic.

There are many ways to get incoming links to your blog. I will mention some of the most important in this article.

Trading blogrolls (lists of links on your blog that lead to other blogs) is one method that people use to get others to link to their site. It’s sort of a “you-scratch-my-back-I’ll-scratch-yours” concept. There are mixed fellings on using this for a couple of reasons. some people use the blogroll to link to other sites that they feel are valuable for their visitors. Others mainly use them just to include the link and then to have their link on the other person’s blog. This has the potential to become a political nightmare. You need to keep track of who you are allowing in your blogroll and if their blogs maintain a professional and informative status. If you drop anyone from your blogroll, you can rile some people up. On the other hand, you can gain many links fairly quickly with this strategy. It might be something worth trying out in your earlier blog days and then you can decide later on if it’s working for you.

Participating in forums is a great way to get people to link to you. Just include your url in your signature when you make a comment or ask a question. Similarly, using your url in your email strategy can increase exposure to your site and increased exposure means increased potential for a link building blog.

Submitting articles is a sure-fire tried and true method for getting lots of links to your blog. But this one does take time. If you are an average (or better than average) writer and you have the time to dedicate to writing articles consistently and submitting them consistently, this is a great way to gain status and links. Here you just have to make sure that you don’t submit duplicate content. Many article directories can help you change various phrases within your content so that you can submit many different articles with different keywords instead of just the one original article that you’ve created.

A similar sort of concept involves you writing as a guest on other blogs. Just sign-up as a guest blogger for a professional, authoritative blog and you will see more and more people linking back to your blog.

Publishing videos on YouTube and then linking them back to your blog in your video description is a great way to get more traffic and more incoming links to your blog. Plus, it puts a little fun as go down the road towards obtaining a link building blog! There’s a tremendous opportunity in this field for creating a full time income by submitting videos to video sites. The best part of this business is that it is automated….. Traffic Geyser sets has a Business in a Box type of training that will teach you how to develop a six figure income online by simply submitting videos for backlinks by turning you into your own online business!

Creating A Link Network… Added Stages of Menopause Blog

November 20, 2009 by
Filed under Internet Marketing, Xsitepro Tutorials

Like most internet marketers I use a variety of tools, WordPress and Xsitepro are just a small part of an online marketers tookit. I wrote the blog post below to outline how anyone can use some of the premade blogs and websites that are available. I was just going to link to the blog post, but I decided to post it in it’s entirety here….after all I wrote it :)

The main reason I decided to share the information here is because you can take the same concept to Xsitepro. When using Xsitepro you can create small mini-sites with a handfull of articles that will do basically the same as a wordpress blog…..in fact, you can do this with any of the free blog platforms….except you’ll have to build the sites yourself.

stagesofmenopause-home-250That is with the exception of Xsitepro. You’ll find some authors creating weekly minisites on a variety of subjects using Xsitepro. You can even search through the warrior special offers and find premade Xsitepro sites. Follow the guidelines below and don’t forget to submit the sites to rss directories and you’ll be amazed at the traffic, in some ways these sites are more easily managed than wordpress sites. Keep an eye peeled at Niche-Minisites , that’s one of my sites. After the first of the year I plan on creating a memebership where you can pick up a couple of premade Xsitepro Sites for peanuts :) I should get my act together and get a presign up page!

Come to think of it, a good strategy would be to create your link networks using both wordpress, wordpress.com, blogger and xsitepro sites. The more variety …..the more natural it will look to the search engines.

Enough babbling by me, let me know if you have any questions and make sure you get a chance to read the post below. It’s a sure way to build a slow but steady income online.

I just set up a blog in my health niche blog sites called Stages of Menopause. I’m working on setting up a network of my own blogs concerned with various subniches of the health niche. The idea is to create a network of blogs that has interconnections similar to that of a spiders web….the more blogs the better.

One of the easiest ways to develop a series of blogs is by purchasing a premade or preexisting blog.

You can find blogs for sale on ebay, look for auctions on blogs that fit your niche.

You can find blogs for sale on sites like digitalpoint.com or other marketing related websites and forums. Flipping blogs or flopping blogs has also become popular, just google “website flipping” or “blog flipping” and you’ll find sites and reports on how to start building and flipping your own blogs.

IMG_1278

The first thing I do is to look at some of the forums to see what’s available (see below paragraph). After finding the appropriate niche, I look for some long tailed keywords using a tool like Micro Niche Finder or Keyword Research Pro. I develop a list of keywords and then I see which of those are available as a domain. Purchase the domain and then set it up as one of my domains on my reseller hosting, either Ultimate Marketing Center or Site5 Reseller Hosting ……both have been excellent with support second to none.

One of the places I constantly keep my eyes on is the Warrior Forum, in the WSO section you can find special offers for premade websites and blogs. Often times you can pick up a blog that is prepopulated with 10 to 20 PLR articles in a custom wordpress theme for less than $20. Remember, chances are the creator of the blog sold at least 10 of these sites and could be as many as 50 of these same sites on the internet. It really doesn’t matter how many are sold because 90% or more of those purchased won’t do anything with it, secondly those that do upload the site won’t make any changes to the site or articles at all. Here’s a list of things to do before and after purchasing one of these premade blogs.

  1. make sure the site comes with plr articles you can edit
  2. transferring wordpress blogs can be difficult, make sure the creator has a clear cut set up pdf or video, and make sure you’ll be able to contact them after you purchase in case you run into trouble during the installation…..ask these questions in the open, as in the forum environment….if the seller is short with you….don’t expect much help
  3. if you are planning to flipping the site make sure you have the proper rights or license
  4. change any and all affiliate links
  5. edit any optin forms to your own autoresponder
  6. find long tail keywords that correspond with the content of each article or blog post
  7. Rewrite the title of each blog post, be sure to include the long tail keyword…this is important!
  8. Rewrite each blog post so that it is unique, be sure to include the long tail keyword that was used in the title, in the blog post at least 3 times
  9. add an image to each blog post, make sure you use the long tail keyword in the name of the image and in the alt tag
  10. publish the post
  11. after publishing, go back and submit the blog post to social bookmarking and networking sites
  12. pick out 10 more long tail keywords and write or edit 10 more articles for blog posts and submit
  13. chances are you will have a very healthy piece of virtual real estate otherwise known as VRE

There’s much more you can do with these sites, but if that were all you did and you did this 5 or 10 times a month you would create a nice little network of blogs that would be valuable for all kinds of different purposes besides a monthly number of clicks from Goggle :)

You could drip feed articles if you have them.

You could build the blog further by any number of autoposting or autoblogging methods.

Bottom line, at least for me, is that finding a prebuilt blog saves me some time….If you find one in the niche you’re interested in, or want to develop it’s a quick way to get some content up quick. You can always develop it latter.

Of course it will take some time to get traffic to the site, I use Auto Social Poster plugin a well kept secret used by so called gurus for quick spidering, fast indexing and constant traffic, its well worth the price because your blog will get indexed and spidered quickly. I also use Slick Auto Poster and Article Stalker for autoposting full lenght keyword rich articles. Once established, I’ll add Google Adsense, Ebay, Amazon and add an optin form…..I might do only one of these or all of them some of these plugins allow you to use your keywords in the plugin to pull in relevant products or articles when autoblogging.

My goal is simple, get the site to produce $10 a month. I keep it simple. I know if I can get 10 sites to produce $10 a month, I’m making $100 a month. That’s not much money but it’s a very real number. Now all you need to do is expand your efforts, shoot for 100 sites a month making $10. Maybe it takes me a year to do that, but I’ll be making $1000 a month on autopilot. I know from experience some of those sites won’t make $10 a month…..some will make less, some will make a lot more!

Here’s an example of one of the sites I purchased on the warrior special offers forum, a blog on “menopause“. All I did was create a new header and install according to the authors instruction. Take a look at Stages of Menopause

Have you ever tried to make a website? Is a WordPress template the best you can hope for? Do you have enough trouble with English, let alone an entirely new computer language? Do you have any clue what a CSS stylesheet is? Don’t worry, it is about to get simple.

Ok, I have to tell you something. I have built over 100 websites, and I no very little code. Yes using blogs and free WYSIWYG editors (That’s what you see is what you get) I have had to learn some HTML. When I started using Frontpage and Dreamweaver I had to learn a lot more. I knew I would forever be using junk templates that I could not change forever. So I struggled putting up my first 10 sites. They all sucked, are still up and barely pay for the hosting and domain names.

I knew to make real money online, I had to find a solution, and fast. I was reading through a free bonus report on web marketing and the author mentioned a product I had never heard of, XSitePro. I surfed around read some reviews, and thought it might be the answer I was desperately seeking, so I bought it and tried it. WOW, it was almost as easy to put up a professional looking site as a hub page!

I began churning out web sites. I could put out and publish a well optimized compliant high ranking site as quick as an article. I was in heaven, my sites would HTML validate and I did not have to worry about the search engines, due to the built in SEO components of the software. I could keep using XSitePro for two more years if I had to, but there were limitations.

Web 2.0. Video, adsense, music, dynamic pages, interaction. Make no mistake, I make a great living online, and do not have a clue how to do any of these, but I know that is what the future will demand. In steps XSitePro 2. If you name any feature you would want a piece of web design software to do. It does it. I don’t know if I will ever use half of what is available.

What I do know is XSitePro 2 is cutting edge. With all the monetizing features it comes with, I am sure I will be able to double the number of sites I have making me money in six months. If you are just beginning with website design, or you are a seasoned pro and want to spend more time doing what you enjoy than building websites, XSitePro 2 is exactly what the doctor ordered. XSitePro 2 Review-It Is All You Hoped For?

Have you ever tried to put up a website? Is a Squidoo template the best you can hope for? Do you have enough trouble with English, let alone an entirely new computer language? Do you have any clue what a mysql database is? Don’t worry, it is about to get simple.

XSitePro 2 Review – is XSitePro Still Easy Website design?

August 8, 2009 by

Having used XSitePro quite happily for a year I was in two minds whether or not to pay for the May 2008 upgrade to version 2. The aspects that I liked about this website design software were the ease of use, speed and the quick analysis of my website pages for optimisation.

The downside has always been not very good templates and a recognisable same as look for many XSitePro sites. Despite that I found the software quicker and easier to use than Dreamweaver or Frontpage.

Temptation got the better of me and soon after the upgrade was mine I was redesigning one of my older websites. As some far more professional looking templates had been added I used one of those for practice after completing the website building tutorial.

Next I imported another of my sites but added my own banner and used one of the 30 navigational menu designs provided and changed it to my own colour selection to blend with the banner. I then started to build a music site using one of their templates and am now building a travel site from scratch with my own design.

I?m really pleased with all of the websites; to my eyes they look good and even my own designs look more professional than they would if I used Dreamweaver or FrontPage. The XSitePro sameness is a thing of the past. For someone like myself who has the aspirations but not the ability of a professional website designer and wants to design their own sites XSitePro 2 is a great tool.

There are several new features that I am enjoying experimenting with. 30 different navigational menus with colour selection I have already mentioned, but you can now easily place your choice of menu at the left, right or bottom of the page or as an info bar at the top. Your navigational menus can be added to more than one place and easily altered if you want to change the design.

New pages can be added easily and you are prompted to start optimising them for the search engines straight away. Article pages are new, there are 11 different styles that you can further customise or you can use a blank page. You can choose when the content is published, for instance you can set up an advertising campaign to automatically come online on a pre set date.

A new feature that I’m finding useful for the travel site that I’m building is that you can have a different right hand margin for every page. As each page has a different destination I am using that feature for my hotel affiliate links for those particular destinations.

Adding Google ads is still easily done but now you can add Amazon ads in the same way and customise the ads to integrate with your website. You can store your publisher ids and channels, so once they are stored a couple of clicks and your site is monetised. You can also store your affiliate links and you don’t have to visit Paypal to set up payment schemes. These features save a lot of time from having to search while adding your advertising.

I’m quite taken by the Mobile Site Wizard. In a couple of minutes I created versions of my sites that are automatically optimised for viewing on mobile phones or Internet able PDAs. I wouldn’t have thought of doing that but now my websites are available for viewing to a wider audience.

There are tons of graphics that you can use and it’s easy to upload your own graphics. A form wizard with different form designs that you can use to capture email addresses is new, also a banner rotator – and one of my favourites an image gallery creator. There is now a selection of social bookmarking icons that are easy to add to the pages and an RSS feed creator that can be used on the pages that you want syndicating.

You can now choose to add 3 different site maps and use siloing to help with the search engines. Redirects, customisable search boxes and pop ups are quick to add and I nearly forgot ? you can have streaming audio and videos on your web pages.

There are so many new and improved features with XSitePro version 2 that it’s impossible to mention them all here. So I’m going to finish with my absolute favourite the Links Page Wizard. In the old version your links page was just a list of sites and descriptions, now you can do a lot more. You can customise the links pages to blend in with your site design, add your own text or ads to the pages and best of all split into categories and include a longer description and screenshot.

The screenshots get my vote – apart from it being more appealing to other webmasters to exchange links with you; every time those web pages are updated you get fresh content to help keep the search engines happy. Although this is my favourite feature it also holds the only downside that I’ve found so far. I wanted to add the XSitePro company website to my links pages but the software has problems with the screenshot for their site and it won’t view duh!

Is XSitePro Version 2 Worth The Asking Price?

For somebody who only wants one or two websites then I would say no. There are plenty of website designers including XSitePro users advertising on the Internet. Or there are lots of ready made free or paid for templates or free site building resources available on the Internet.

I believe that it is absolutely worth the full asking price if like myself you want to build multiple big websites with constant content updates, sales pages or smaller sites. Or if like me you wake up one morning and think that your site looks as messy as your hair and you want to change the design throughout as quick as it takes to get your hair restyled. It’s also easy to change your site design back when you realise that you should have woken up properly first with a cup of coffee!

I am having a lot of fun with XSitePro 2 and am finding using it refreshing after spending several months struggling to learn how to use the rather more expensive Memberspeed membership site software. It may not be fair to compare them as they have different functions, but although excellent in it’s own way I find Memberspeed hard to use and very time consuming and frustrating in comparison. Maybe that will be the next review.

What Upgrades Would I Like to See in the Future?

Although I got far more than I expected with the upgrade and am having a lot of fun using the software it does no harm to have a wish list. I think what would be the most useful is more interactivity with site visitors, perhaps the option of visitors being able to add comments. A shopping cart and a way to add members built into the software ? you never know what they might surprise us with next!

Building a Website With XSitePro V2 and DLGuard

August 7, 2009 by

Although I can build websites with html or use Dreamweaver and Frontpage I am not an expert website designer and to be honest I struggle with software and scripts. Accepting my limitations I bought the XSitePro web design software in 2007 and upgraded to XSitePro V2 last year.

When I first got XSitePro I built my digital download site solely using that. Used Paypal as my payment processor and had thank you pages with download links for every product. It was a cheerful but not very professional looking site. I was fond of my efforts but there were problems with my download links being accessed by cheats and as time passed I began to cringe at the unprofessional look of my website.

As I had made a major investment in some software called Memberspeed I decided to rebuild the site using that. Although the software was intended to build membership sites it has a shopping cart and article directory which meant that I would get regularly updated content to help the site along in the search engines.

Fine but the fatal flaws were that using the software was time consuming and difficult for me to figure out and that it wasn’t flexible enough. For somebody with greater website design skills it might not be a problem but for me it was. My website looked more professional on the surface because I used a ready built Memberspeed template, but the shopping cart looked an uninviting mess that I simply did not have the skills to rectify.

Sales disappeared and another solution was called for. I wanted part of the solution to be XSitePro V2 because I love working with it. I have tried to use other shopping carts but find them difficult to understand and I don’t find them flexible enough for my limited skills. I had regularly seen posts in forums about using DLGuard as a shopping cart, or indeed paying memberships. Most but not all of the posters recommended DLGuard, but not everybody is going to like the same thing.

One day a question was asked about whether or not DLGuard could be integrated with XSitePro V2. The replies were all in the positive and when I checked out some of the sites indicated as using both I was quite impressed. A timely payment from Google Adsense was deposited into my PayPal account so I thought ‘go on girl go for it’.

I bought DLGuard for the princely sum of $146.05 including VAT. Before I could use it I needed to build the bones of a site, and being an impatient bod it was a good job that I had the speed of XSitePro. I used XHeader (a freebie with XSitePro V2) to make the header and utilised the many inbuilt design features to build the rest of the site. Not perfect but it looks more professional than my first digital download site and I can make alterations very easily.

My next step was to unzip DLGuard and upload it to my website following quite easy instructions. It wasn’t long before I’d uploaded my first product and added my Getresponse autoresponder details. That’s built in with both XSitePro and DLGuard so that was the easy part.

My next step was to redesign the DLGuard shopping cart to make it look like my website design. I sat and looked at the screen, scratched my head a few times before I decided that I was out of my depth. I went on to the DLGuard and XSitePro forums looking for how to tutorials and couldn’t find any. I thought about it for a while and decided that the only way to do what I wanted was to experiment.

I had a list of alterable DLGuard pages so I visited my sites Cpanel and viewed the source files. I wanted to edit them but being cautious I copied the source files into notepad before I began. That way if I boobed I would be able to replace the original source files.

An hour later I had added my new header to the shopping cart, altered the background colour and a few other things to give the appearance of integration. Considering how hopeless I am with scripts and software and my lack of design expertise I have surprised myself with what I have achieved.

My website now has an integrated shopping cart and my downloads are secure from cheats. It has flexibility in that I can add articles and reviews quickly and whenever I want. To my eyes it looks better than the previous two designs and it’s even started to make sales again after a spell in the doldrums.

One little glitch was with my first sale on the new site. I had redesigned the product download page and to check to see if everything was working I reduced a product to $0.01 and bought it with a joint Paypal account that I have with a partner. As I was testing I got called away and when I got back to my computer somebody else had bought the product and told me that the download link didn’t work. No it didn’t because I hadn’t uploaded the blooming product at that point. But, never mind the lower price than normal sale tested the rest of the work that I’d done and showed me that yes XSitePro and DLGuard do work together and it isn’t all that difficult.
