Custom Xsitepro Template….well, almost!

The below question and confusion regarding xsitepro and templates comes up often. Since Xsitepro uses a system unlike any other to build websites, having your custom website template designed correctly and put in the right format is of paramount importance. This is a conversation I had with an Xsitepro user looking to use his custom website image in Xsitepro
I am not the best at designing a sales site, so I hired a person who did a great job for me.
He has sent me the all the files in jpeg and html…
I have read here on the forum as well as looked in the guided and I do not see how
to import these files…Do I do them one at a time and redesign the site with XSite or is there another way
to import the entire contents all at once…I would appreciate any suggestions…
*************************
Then somone tried to explain how xsitepro uses templates and why you just can’t use an image or regular html.
*************************
Hi Brian:
The information you are seeking is in the big manual Part U Page 266.
I haven’t tried it yet, but as far as I can see, XSite Pro cannot import a full site prepped in another program, like dreamweaver. It can’t interpret the functions and paramaters used by the other program to understand what is required. It can do so if it is an XSite Pro product because it understands the formatting used.
Like me, unilingual English trying to read the manual in French or Italian.
I think you have to do some work. It is one of the larger sections in the manual.
You will undoubtedly receive better information from more expert persons than I, as they scan the forum.
Good Luck

Below is my suggestion to help Brian with is dilemma regarding converting an custom designed photoshop image into a custom xsitepro template.
Hi Brian
When creating a website with xsitepro most users will use one of the templates that are provided with the xsitepro program and use it to build their website with.
Others will purchase a xsitepro template and import it into their xsitepro program as their template for their new website.
Still others, like you, will have a custom template designed. Typically a template is created in photoshop or GIMP which are image editors. Next the image is “sliced” into pieces that then…..can be used in Xsitepro to build a template. This file is called an .xse file.
So…at this point you are half way finished. The guy who designed and built your website template finished the image part of the process….next it has to be “sliced” into sections and imported corrected into Xsitepro so that you will have an .xse file.
If you’re not following me, first you can’t use the files you have with Xsitepro.
Second …..the files you have need to be manipulated so that they can be used in xsitepro.
If you have photoshop of GIMP you can slice the images you have yourself….I have a series of videos that shows you how to do …see Make Your Own Templates
If you rather have someone do it, I can do what is needed, send me a PM, otherwise there are other people on the forum that might be able to help you.
Good Luck

Niche Health Products Gives Free Custom Xsitepro Templates

Hi Kim
I had to take a minute to make a comment about Kim’s Health PLR membership sites. Did you know you get 2 free custom xsitepro templates each month?
In the interest of full disclosure, I create Kim’s Graphics and Minisites for each subject….and for anyone who might be a bit skeptical, Kim didn’t ask me to make any comments here
I’m constantly amazed at the quality of Kims articles and books, the articles are thorough, well written and complete. All articles are based on keywords that will get you results.
Because I work for Kim, I know the quality that she insists on…and it’s second to none. She is completely committed to her members always attempting to provide the very best.
You might ask yourself, why should I use PLR…haven’t they kind of dissappeared into the electronic ethos as most IM trends?
The answer is yes….in most cases.
However, Kim’s health plr memberships focus on one specific niche that has the capability of being drilled down deeply….that being the Health Niche. The Health Niche is a hot niche composed of many sub-niches, which makes it an ideal niche for selling affiliate products, your own health products and/or developing small silo of minisites. And…if you’re motivated enough to combine these with your own network of blogs…..watch out!
Each month you get 2 PLR packages ….each one focusing on a different health niche…things like influenza, old age, pregnancy, stress, aids and on …..and on…..
Since I do the graphics and minisites, I wanted to share how I do these. Each month I take each of the subjects and create a variety of header grahics, ecovers, flat book images, footers and full website templates in standard html and .xse the xsitepro format.
Keep in mind you get 2 xsitepro templates that are unique each month that will allow you to build your health based website directory on. This is big…go and try to get a custom xsitepro template made….it ain’t cheap!
I created a quick video so you can see an example of some of the website templates that are included:
Free Custom Xsitepro Templates
I’ve seen some adsense site packages that are wso’s selling for $27 or more. You’re actually getting two completely new adsense sites each month along with the PLR package!
I’m sorry….I just get really excited when I think of Niche Health Products…it’s been here at least 2 years providing the same high quality material each and every month.
If you have an interest in health related subjects…If you create websites for doctors, chiroprators or any number of health professionals….get them to sign up for this membership because the articles are perfect feeder articles to help their sites and/or blogs to get indexed along with being able to start autoposting.
Another idea is some of the numberous people that are involved with multi-level maketed health products. Most claim to cure just about everything…..what a better way to promote these products then by using some of the PLR articles and books for developing regular visits by those indexing spiders. Don’t mistake my intentions, I’m not making fun of these MLM products….I take a few myself and feel better when I take them than when I don’t…..my point is that an advanced mlm’er could make some hay with these articles, graphics and sites, by incoroporating some of the internet marketing strategies you’ve learned over the years. Things like building a list, marketing affiliate products…etc.
I could go on, but I think you get the idea. I’ve known Kim for at least 2 years and her focus on creating a superior product each and every month is second to none….I’m really proud to be part of the NHP project.
One more thing…we could provide you with the best of the best….and that’s what this is, however, all it takes is a little effort on your part to make these sites and articles stand out…..Yep, WORK is that 4 letter word most run away from…but I don’t want you to think that this is some magic membership that will make you 1000′s……as Dennis from OneKaDay says…set your goal at 5 bucks a day, accomplish the goal and then move it higher.
Grap this offer while you can…I don’t think you’ll see this kind of pricing anytime soon
Good luck to all!

Adding Text to an Xsitepro Template Header

Someone asked how to add text to some of the provided xsitepro templates. Actually they wanted to know how to change the text in the header portion of an xsitepro header. I answered the question and posted the answer below….might help someone looking to edit xsitepro template headers…..the just so happens to find themselves here
Hi
It’s not a dumb question….everything is strange or new when you first get started. Sometimes you just have to click away and give things a try to see how they work.
For instance, if you want to start a site…you start off by picking a blank page or picking a template…correct? Let’s say you select when of the xsitepro provided “graphical” templates. Next you click Ok and your are asked to name the site, but in keywords etc.
You should be looking at 4 tabs across the top of the page.
Website INformation
Page Layout
Web Pages
Other
Publishing Details
Click on Page Layout and the first Section on the left is the Header Panel…go down to the Designer Button and click on it.
Now a new window pops up called Header HTML and it has 3 buttons
Design
Source
Preview
You can work in either the Design tab or the Source Tab
Try the Design Tab, you should see the header image…..possibly repeated down the page, just go to the first area where you see the text. Place your cursor on it and you should be able to edit it…you can delete it, add something new or just change the lettering.
You can do the same in the Source Tab if you know a little something about html coding.
When you are finished with your edits you can view in the Preview Tab. If more changes or positioning is needed go back to the desgin or source tab.
Thats’s it!
Good luck

How to Edit an Xsitepro Provided Template
October 19, 2008 by Scott
Xsitepro comes with many templates and it’s very easy to edit the header graphic if you know how. Sometimes what’s obvious to a seasoned user is just one big question to the new xsitepro user. A new user asked the following question about editing the header section of an xsitepro template.
I want to use a template in the first site I’m setting up but, although there is plenty of reference to them in the tutorial, manual and tools’ manual, you aren’t told exactly how to use them.
I presume that once you’ve selected a template and clicked OK, what you have entered in your header (site name, etc.) will replace the wording on the template. Is this right, or do I have to do something other than this?
Sorry if this seems a stupid question, but I’m not only a newbie to using XSitePro, but also a newbie in the wider technological sense.

Custom Xsitepro Templates

One of the things I dislike most about Xsitepro is the look of the provided xsitepro website templates. One look at a website made with the provided or typical xsitepro template shouts out “Xsitepro”. There is a way to beat the standard xsite look, and that is with customized Xsitepro Templates.
Not that using xsitepro is bad, but in my opinion the look is rather amaturish and not very appealing. Again, don’t misunderstand me. If you are a newbie, or trying to get some information on the web for the first time, xsitepro is the easiest and best way to go. You can use one of the provided Xsitepro templates and add some content…then upload and in flash you have a website that can be easily edited and maintained.
However, if you run your business online, or have been a website desginer then you want the most professional looking xsitepro website template available. You simply want the best because your website is a reflection of your business.
The solution is to either hire someone or create your own custom xsitepro templates. I can create an xsitepro template that is next to impossible for anyone to tell that the site made from xsitepro. I’ve seen other 3rd party templates that were available that were pretty good, usually much better than the ones provided with the xsitepro program. Although, if one were to properly use all the features of Xsitepro version 2, you can use the provided templates and crank out some awesome looking sites.
I did a project for a client and then altered it a little, made a quick header and then uploaded it….see if you can tell if this was created using a customized Xsitepro template!

Niche Health Product’s for July
Private Label Rights products, otherwise known as PLR, have grown in popularity over the past couple of years. At first there were only a handful of PLR memberships on the world wide web…..now there are 100′s of plr memberships with a variety of benefits. Unfortunately these private label rights memberships have degraded in quality. What I mean is the quality of the content in the majority of PLR memberships is very poor.
Some plr memberships pile on the benefits, only to provide poor quality articles. A common practice in internet marketing circles is to provide a big pile of bonuses. In my opinion, the bonuses provided by these memberships is really an insult to my intelligence….all junk.
One Private Label Rights membership I belong to is called Niche Health Products. The health niche is ripe for the picking. There are many products and services available for affiliate commission when working with the health niche. In fact, there are many high paying e-books available at clickbank that you can promote in the webpages of the Niche Health Products Minisites, or in the NHP plr articles and finally in the Niche Health Product’s PLR ebook.
Each month the Niche Health Product’s features 20 articles, a 10 article website and for one topic a plr ebook. This is done for each of the 2 subjects that are picked for the month. In other words, let’s use July’s NHP plr subjects…you would get a set of articles, a website and plr ebook on the following subjects:
-heart disease
-keeping fit
As with most PLR products you can do just about anything you want with these materials except sell them. Private Label Rights are almost like public domain works, you can create products from the articles, use them for blog posts, rewrite them and submit to directories.
Each month of your Niche Health Products membership you will get a complete set of graphics for your use. The graphics are created in a very generic way so you don’t have to customize any of the artwork. However, the header graphic is supplied with text and without text so those with the ability can add text to the header graphic. The other graphic is a set of virtual ebook covers…again, very generic but you can sell the plr ebook using this graphic or have it customized for you by Scott at www.spgrahic.com.
Along with the graphics, each month your Niche Health Product’s membership provides a website that comes in 2 different styles. You’ll get 2 versions of the website that can be edited in Xsitepro and you’ll get 2 Versions of the website that can be edited in any html editor.
The minisites are very unique because they are designed to produce unique content. The websites are bases on 10 plr articles so you can go in and rewrite the articles, or even add more aritcles to them. Each page has a snippet of content that has an affiliate link and the content, about 3 to 5 sentences, is rotated on a 24 hour basis…and the snippet is picked randomly….so each page will have different content.
The minisites will also have other forms of monetization, such as, affiliate links from amazon.com or even ebay.com. Also, each page of the minisite has an rss feed which contributes to the uniqueness of each page.
So…if you were to change the title of each page and change the first sentence of each paragraph….and if you are really ambitious, change the last sentence of each paragraph your website would be very unique without much effort.
Heart Disease Minisite for Niche Health Products….July PLR
Niche Health Products provides real value for your money. It is a membership that has been somewhat hidden and not promoted a lot…so, anyone who has a little ambition and would like to start making some money online would have an excellent opportunity by joining Niche Health Products!
Why not join Niche Health Product’s Today!

Xsitepro Templates and Website Design
July 23, 2008 by Scott
Filed under XsitePro Templates, Xsitepro Tutorials
Xsitepro version 1 and version 2 both work with templates to help you build a website.
The program comes with many templates, however, sooner or latter everyone wants to learn how to make templates for xsitepro. We run into a little bit of a snag since Xsitepro 2.0 has more panels which make up the template. This makes some Xsitepro 2.0 templates incompatible with Xsitepro version 1.0.
There is a nice Xsitepro tutorial in the help section of your xsitepro program and you can see the xsitepro tutorial here….just click on the link.
Let me go through the process of creating a xsitepro template.
- First imagine a legal pad of paper….and imagine that legal pad is your webpage.
- Now take the legal page and draw out your webpage.
- Header across the top
- Navigation panel on the left side
- Navigation panel on the right side
- Body Section in between the 2 Navigation panels
- Footer Across the Bottom
Ok…you have to use a graphics editor like photoshop to create the website you just designed on the legal pad. NVU is a free version of photoshop and will work just as well or you can use any graphics editor that will allow you to slice the image for use in a website.
After you create an image of the website with your graphics editor, you will slice the image into boxes or panels that will be used in the numbered steps above (version 2 allows for more slices or panels)
Let me backtrack a second. The whole purpose of designing your own template is to have something that looks good and doesn’t look like an out of the box Xsitepro template. So….when designing your webpage in your graphics editor keep in mind the fact that you will be slicing into component parts. Know what those parts are and where they are located. It doesn’t matter if its in Xsitepro 1 or Xsitepro 2.
The awesome difference in Xsitepro 2 is that you have additional panels or boxes to work with. This will allow you more freedom in your design and help eliminate the traditional xsitepro template look.
Finally, save the images and make sure you optimize them first so they load fast.

XsitePro Version 2 Templates

XsitePro Version 2 Templates
XsitePro Version 2.0 is a new version of Xsitepro and is one of the easiest programs to use if you are interested in getting a presence on the world wide web. The best part is that it uses premade xsitepro templates for creating any type of website. Xsitepro comes with some prepackaged templates, but these templates have what I call the xsitepro template look….they almost look cheesey!
“The Xsitepro Template Look” is usually characterized by a square website page. The top of the page is composed of a table that is the basis of the header, it can be filled with an image or typically it just has a background color and you can type a page or website description in it, and then you will see a navigational column which is basically just a table with a contrasting colored background and is positioned on the left or right side of the page, to recap, the xsitepro webpage template is composed of tables with colored backgrounds which in turn gives the xsitepro template a very square edged and boxy look, square box across the top, square box on the sides, square box on the bottom and square box in the middle Then there is a section where the body is displayed with is another table with a white back ground. Some of the xsitepro templates have a 3 column format which really makes the template stick out as the typical boxy and square edged standard xsitepro temlate. And to finish the template design off, there is a table across the bottom of the page that is has a colored background and you can add various link components and text for footer content. Xsitepro has features most other website editors don’t, when finishing off the header you can add various linking componets to attain the search engine optimzation.
If you’ve gotten this far I have some good news for you, there are some designers that create some awesome looking templates for xsitepro…and I’m one of them! Even though many of the templates available today for xsitepro are of some variation of the format I discussed above, some with images in the headers and various shapes for the navigation tables….try as they might, it’s really difficult todisquise the standard xsitepro template look. Now you’re wondering….if I use Xsitepro am I stuck with this design flaw?
You can pay a website designer who specializes in Xsitepro templates to custom design a template that will look like any other website or better. It is an expensive undertaking because the designer first has to design the look of the website in a program like photoshop and then “slice” the website image and convert it into a Xsitepro Template file so you can the import it into your Xsitepro program.
I’ve seen people pay $25 or $50 for a custom xsitepro template….but it looks like crap. Expect to pay anywhere between $200 and $500 or even more for a great looking xsitepro cutom template! Yes, I know it’s expensive, but a good designer…someone who is good with photoshop and xsitepro can create a template for xsitepro that looks just like any other template or even better and bottom line, no one will be the wiser, they won’t be able to tell that you are using XsitePro Version 2.0!
How would you like to get your hands and 2 of these customized Xsitepro Templates each and every month without paying those outrageous prices? If you become a member of Niche Health Products you will get 2 awesome looking templates that you would never expect to be used with Xsitepro. This is a Private Label Rights membership and you get a ton of material along with the templates. In fact you get 2 complete minisites that are built with these templates, each minisite comes in 4 different versions!
This is where it gets exciting…not only do you get the plr materials you also get the .psd or photoshop master files for the templates…you can make your own templates from these files. The .psd files are the key to creating new templates for the experienced Xsitepro and photoshop user, you’d be amazed at what you come up with when using these files. The only way to comprehend what I’ve been talking about is to take a look at FREE XsitePro Templates and actually see a much more elaborate survey and see some real live websites built with Xsitepro templates used for Niche Health Products.

Review of Niche Health Products for June
The above link is to a post for a very cool site featuring XsitePro templates that are niche specific for the health and wellness field and its a very affordable membership site giving you 2 complete products a month.
PLR articles can help you make a lot of money if you are using good articles and approaching the process from the right angle.
Private Lable Rights licenses come in all shapes and sizes. Some PLR have an anything goes license,
basically this type of license is the same as public domain works. However, you’ll find other Private Label Rights to vary with the type of book, maybe article and even software. Such as:
giving rights to sell to others
selling a site once it’s completed…known as site flipping
most plr licenses will allow you to put your name on it if you alter the original in a signifcant way
claiming authorship
no license to sell to others
…..and on and on
I belong to a handful of PLR memberships and to be honest, I will space off and forget that I need to download the current months articles and other materials. That is all of them except for one. That would be Niche Health Products by Kim Standerline which provides articles, ebooks and 2 highly customizable monthly websites complete with custom graphics and templates yep, you get a 2 subjects each month with minisites, otherwise known as adsense sites, articles, ebooks, website templates and graphics.
One of the greatest benefits of Kim Standerline’s Niche Health Products is that you are drilling down deeper into a very wide niche, the wide niche being Health and each month the two subjects will be one aspect of illness or the health industry.
Two years ago I joined Niche Health Products PLR Membership and must say the articles have been outstanding. In fact I was so impressed that I asked if I could join the team and participate in some way.
I’ve been creating the monthly minisites with custom one off looking websites. I really enjoy doing my work for Niche Health Products and I don’t want to brag, but the graphics are high quality and the xsitepro website templates are off the charts…..I guarantee you’ll never see anything like them….I spend more time than usual trying to create something that is new and cutting edge.
So I create 2 website templates that correspond to the subjects for that month. I also create a simple square header and footer for each subject in case someone might be looking just for a header graphic. Also, I make 2 ebook covers each for the subjects presented in Niche Health Products, I provide the flat .psd image so, if you have the photoshop actions you can edit these covers to your hearts content. Along with the ebook, I create a flat image for both themes.
All the book and flat images are sized from 500 pixels wide down to 150 pixels wide.
When I create the xsitepro website templates, I provide both the .psd and .jpg images. You can then slice them for use in any program for creating websites. The psd files are very valuable, almost like public domain images..
As mentioned you get 2 seperate versions of each website template, the psd and jpg files, the jpg file is optimized for best appearance and quick loading. You will get 2 seperate versions of Xsitepro websites ready to load up to your website….plus you also get 2 additional versions of a standard html type website, in othe words, non-XsitePro website..
I know, you’re probably confused…what’s up with 2 Xsitepro versions. The first version is the simplest, it has pages with the .htm extension and all you need to do is import it into Xsitepro and upload to your site. Every webpage is made with the basic xsitepro website template and includes 3 google adsense ads with one plr article…every now and then I will include a big selling clickbank ebook. It’s designed for the novice and is easy for just about anyone to edit and upload.
The second edition of Xsitepro website is a variation that includes some dynamic content. Basically this Xsitepro website has everything the first version has, however, it includes something very important and that is the rotating snippets of text and current news from rss feeds, which include affiliate links and it will display a rss feed at the bottom of the page with content that is specific to the content of the website. It’s next to impossible to have duplicate content with these sites even if you don’t change a thing….(as always, anytime you work with plr material it is to your advantage to do some editing to the original text). The other unique thing about these sites is that they will have the .php extension
Since everyone doesn’t have Xsitepro I also create 2 versions in a standard html format that can be edited in any html editor….such as, Dreamweaver, NVU and other wysiwyg website editiors.
The third version has pages with the extension of .htm and it has everything that the second XsitePro version has….the major difference is that the pages are controlled by a .htacess file (that may be greek to you…thus the reason for version #4). The .htaccess file has coding in it to allow the pages to display php includes….thus the rotating content snippets. You typically don’t have to touch this file, any problems….just drop me an email.
Sometimes your hosting provider has a hard time using the .htaccess file so the pages have to end in .php…..this is the 4th version. Version number 4 is the exact same version as number 3 with the exception of the htaccess file and if you don’t mind having .php pages, it’s the simplest version to use….You will not see any difference in the last two versions except the .php ending. I might add that the .php pages usually will not show up in the typical wysiwyg webpage editors.
Let’s recap, joining Niche Health Products gets you 20 Private Label Rights articles for each of the 2 subjects of the month…so 40 plr articles. You will receive two adsense sites, containing 10 more plr articles and you will receive two sets of newly created website templates and a set of standard website header graphics…plus you get a ebook cover for the one substantial book you recieve each month.
As you can see, this article includes some samples of all the graphics for this month….this way you’ll get a better idea what’s included….and of course you can edit everything because I’ve included all the psd files and the basic header graphics come in a blank format allowing you to add text with any editior. The ebooks are a little tricker and you need photoshop, however, I’ll gladly edit anything for a minor charge.
This month the subjects are on Diabetes and Repite Care. The Xsitepro templates can be seen in this article, if you click on the image you’ll be taken to the actual webiste to see what it looks like.
If you are a user of good PLR material, you really shouldn’t miss the Monthly PLR membership….Niche Health Products by Kim Standerline….2 years and going strong
