Mchenry Firewood Listing Optimized for Firewood Mchenry in Xsitepro Local Business Template

January 31, 2011 by
Filed under Xsitepro Business Directory Template

I just got done adding Mchenry Firewood to the Best of Mchenry local business portal. The Xsitepro Business Directory Template continues to produce great results. I created the webpage for Tom’s Mchenry Firewood Delivery in the portal along with adding his listing to the links page and finished about 4am my time. I got up at 10am and found his listing at number 7 in the SERP’s for Mchenry Firewood. Just amazing!

I’ll do some backlinking for “mchenry firewood” and “firewood mchenry” over the next week or so and see what happens. Tom’s a great guy and delivers well seasoned firewood in the Mchenry, Illinois area. I purchased some firewood from him and he said business is down. So I offered a spot on my directory trying to help him out.

You can read more details on how I developed the listing at Mchenry Firewood Delivered.

I added a feature to the Best of Mchenry Local Business Portal. One feature could be a real money maker for you. As you can see from the screenshot below, there are 4 featured advertising spots across the top of the page that contain an image and are above the fold. Three smaller ads come first and then there is a larger featured ad that contains an image with some advertising text. See screenshot below.

Featured ad for local business template featuring Mchenry Firewood

Let’s look at the “Directory Featured Ad”. Currently on this site there are 3 ads that are randomly rotated with each page refresh and are visible on every page of the website. As you can see there is a 200 x150px image that is floated to the right. The title is a h3 tag and there isn’t any limit on the text but ideally you wouldn’t want to make it larger than the image.

If your xsitepro local business directory is getting some decent traffic the “Directory Featured Ad” becomes a hot property. I haven’t tested this, however, I would think that you would want to limit the number of these ads from 5 to 10 advertisers. Of course it all depends on the traffic. If you’re getting 10 or 20 visitors a day then 2 or 3 ads would be the max. If your traffic increases to 500 or 1000 uniques a day then 5 or 10 ads would work great. You could even charge from $100 to $500/month per advertiser.  You might even offer the space to a single advertiser for a premium price and turn off the rotation.

Take a quick look at the 3 small ads across the top of the pages. At this time they are fixed and don’t rotate. However, as traffic increases I will began to rotate ads in these spots also….. more on this latter.

For now the Mchenry Firewood ad will rotate with 2 other ads. Mchenry Firewood is a seasonal business and I’m sure the owner will want to shut the ad off for the warmer months. This brings up one more point. Pricing can be on a month per month basis but you can give discounts for purchasing 3 months, 6 months or 1 year at a time. This will guarantee your client a spot for future advertising. Another approach would be to include a links listing for some given purchase such as Firewood Mchenry.

Hope this gives you some idea how powerful Xsistepro is and can be. More will be coming on the Xsitepro Local Business Portal Templates!

Xsitepro and Main Street Marketing Machines

Working with offline marketing Main Street Marketing MachineYou’d probably wouldn’t be surprised to hear that people use Xsitepro for many different reasons. I spend much of my time in the internet marketing niche, graphics niche and offline marketing niche and I’m always surprised to see innovative uses of Xsitepro.

The key to this diversity is the use of templates and I’m in the process of creating an advanced template that can be used for any niche with just a few tweaks… I’m making the videos now and will be sending an email out to my list as soon as its available.

Here’s a sample of one of the template configurations.

Still testing but click here to see the basic template

Let me change gears and talk about making money online using your website….whether for an offline business or online business.

It’s a difficult task to make a living online, it’s even more difficult to have a brick and mortar store and create a website that brings you leads and sales. I don’t think it ever was easy, however, today’s economy makes the task even more difficult.

Your inbox is probably filled on a daily basis with offers for one money making product after another. All promising to make money. They might work to some degree….but never as easy as it might portray.

We live in a unique period of internet history. Today, April 2010, offers you an opportunity that won’t last forever. I’m trying not to sound too hypey….I hate that tactic, but what I’m about to show you will make a difference in your life and those you do business with.

I love this saying:

“Help enough other people get what they want from life and you’ll get everything you want and more” Zig Ziglar…..a very true saying.

Offline Marketing provides an opportunity for you to help others. A number of systems have been developed but none can compare to what I’m about to show you.

First…very very few people can go out and make money on their own. If you have a system to follow, building a successful business becomes much easier. Think of things like franchises.

Well…the folks at Traffic Geyser have been experimenting with their system of video, article, podcast ..ect. submissions and combining them with keywords for local businesses. Their desire was to create a system that would get local businesses top position on Google and the other search engines. For instance a painter in Chicago would want love to have “Chicago House Painter” turn with his website on position 1 of Google.

That’s exactly what they’ve been able to achieve. A system for ranking local businesses for their keywords to bring them leads and sales.

How can this benefit you? Actually…a couple of ways.

This system is called Main Street Marketing Machines

If you own your own brick and mortar business you can use it simply for yourself and get your business ranked for a variety of keywords that will bring you either leads or sales or both. Unlike purchasing a yellow page ad, this is an investment in a system that costs less than yellow page advertising and will last the lifetime of your business.

Main Street Marketing MachinesThe other option

This system really will shine if you’ve been part of the internet marketing community and trying to make money online. This system takes what you’ve learned and you can apply it to any local business with excellent results. Meaning, they will be ranked on the first page of Google.

This system of offline marketing to local businesses can become your business. Their method of promotion and development will bring clients running to you and your business can be as large as you are able to imagine.

The key to the success of Main Street Marketing Machines is that it works!

Go to this page:

Main Street Marketing Machines

Fill in the form and watch the videos, you’ll get everything you need to make an intelligent decision about this.

By the way, even if you are a complete newbie….this system will allow you to set up your own offline marketing business. With so many people looking either for a new job, replace their job or just looking for some extra income….this is a business opportunity you will want to at least look at.

Wishing you much success!

Offline Marketing Tutorial

Offline Marketing an Internet Marketing Niche

Xsitepro users can easily tap into the offline marketing niche. Showing brick and mortar businesses how to use a website to create a following is very easy if they have Xsitepro. Xsitepro makes the entire offline marketing process really easy because xsitepro is so easy to use. Below you’ll read about a couple of different offline marketing or offline consulting business models….. you really should give this some serious thought if you’d like to make some quick money.

I ran across a post regarding offline marketing the original poster offered a great business model for doing offline marketing and obviously he had some experience in it. He wasn’t proposing that this was the ultimate “offline gold”, simply one type of method to use in offline marketing.

Many of the readers weren’t really getting it. Their lack of understanding might indicate their inexperience since they wanted to know the OP’s sites, how much he was making, how come his sites weren’t listed….in other words they didn’t believe this was a viable business model.

Read his orginal quote below and then my response below it. Offline marketing works…you just need to do it!

I’ve been combining my offline and online marketing skills for quite sometime now. Im going to show you a method that can make a you limitless money if you rinse and repeat it.

It involves local search. The best way of describing this method is by showing you a real life example. This example uses local dentists but you can do it for literally any type of business. The reason I used dentists is because here in London they make an absolute fortune which means they have the funds available to invest in advertising their services.

What I did was buy up a load of domains. I bought about 50 of them but im just going to show you 2

http://dentistinleyton.com

http://dentistinleytonstone.com

So what I did for the first one was chucked up a wordpress blog on the domain, upload a nice theme and write a quick 200 word article with the domain keyword which is “Dentist in Leyton” In leyton there are about 20 dentists but ill go more into that in a minute. I then stick a few “Advertise Here Banners” in the right side of the margin.

What I then did was buy one of these 200 blog comment packages and get the provider to get me 200 links to my TLD with the anchor “Dentist in Leyton”

Now the thing you need to remember is you Obviously want to go for a term that you will rank for and appear on the first page immediately so don’t go for anything crazy like “Dentist London” go for something with a bit less competition, like I’ve done above.

Once the site is ranking. I then went to yell.com and made a list of all the dentists in leyton and rang them one by one. I told them I had a site that was on the first page of google for the keyword “Dentist in Leyton” and was currently getting around 10-15 visitors a day. We’re talking ultra targeted traffic.

Now 10-15 visitors a day could quite easily be an extra $1000 a day of income for a dentist depending on the work that needs to be done to the persons teeth. So I explain this to the dentist and they like the idea and ask me how much. I tell them it will cost $400 a month but potentially that could bring them in about 20K worth of business in that time. They love the idea and sign up. I get my partner to set up an invoice and get them on a monthly billing plan. I then put their contact details on my site and move onto the next dentist.

When I have 3 dentists signed up I close off the signups to that particular site and move onto another location. I don’t want to sarurate the site with too many ads because otherwise the dentists start complaining that they are not receiving enough calls so the optimum number i have found to work is about 3 dentists max per location, which is about $1200 per site per month! This whole process takes about a week to set up and doesn’t really require you to be that persuasive. Once the dentists see the potential in what you are providing they are eager to get signed up. Once I saw the potential for this I then set up another 20 sites in another niche.

As you can see with about 10 sites you should be able to turn this into a $10k a month business and the money is RECURRING every month. All you need to do is make sure the sites are ranking for the keyword every month and bringing in enough traffic to warrant the dentist to stay hooked. What you might also want to do is get people to mention your site when they speak to the dentist to show the dentist you are actually bringing them in decent leads.

Anyway just giving you guys an insight into the power of local search and how you can make money from it.

The OP talks about using one aspect of internet marketing to market to one aspect of the offline or brick and mortar world. In my eys, an excellent post with great ideas. A business model anyone could follow and a niche most anyone could target. Yet I see questions on the reality of the idea….does it work…will it work for me….my dentist’s are poor….my dentist’s have too much money….my dentists won’t talk to me, my dentists won’t pay that much…..and on and on.

Offline marketing works only if you make an effort to apply it. If dentists don’t work for you, try chiropractors or…..just keep trying till something clicks. I said it works but it isn’t necessarily easy. If you’re looking to have your paypal account magically filled over night…..it ain’t gonna happen :(

The biggest joke was the so called “mentor” who said it the idea stunk….yep, and Al Gore invented the internet!

Here’s what you have to remember. Chances are, if you’re here, you know buckets more than any brick and mortar store, service or professional about marketing online. These guys are clueless…period! You have one of the most sought after assests in the whole world…that is, KNOWLEDGE!!!

For one minute forget about your pockets and concentrate on the pockets of your customer or client. If you approach this market from the genuine standpoint of providing value, help and profit for your customers…..you’ll win. You see, this philosophy is counter intuitive to most. In fact, most people on this forum are interested in one thing….that is, making money for themselves.

Get this concept right and the mechanics of developing websites, directories or whatever for offline clients will work. You provide the best solution for their business to start making money or start making more money. Its all in the mindset and people can sense that….even through email or just phone calls.

There are so many different angles you can approach the offline world with that it really is mind bending. The OP’s concept will work if you only try it. I’ll give you a simpler model to follow.

Pick a business in your town….could almost be any business, and find their webpage. Lets look at restaurants. So we go to Google, and search for “restaurants in XXXXXX” go through the first 10 results. How do their websites look? Could you improve them? What could you do to help them make more money?

Here’s where you’ll look like a star. How many of the restaurant websites have an autoresponder form on the first page…at the top, or above the fold? Find the one’s that don’t. Now make contact with the owner and ask what their slowest day is…they say Tuesday. Ask them if they’d like to make it one of their busiest. Ask them, “What if you had a way to contact all your best customers and tell them you had a special gift for them on Tuesday….a free meal…2 for 1, free sandwich….you get the idea. Explain further ways could build a list of customers from their website and how they could market to that list to make more money.

If they aren’t interested….just walk away. You might want to tell them you are going to their competitor next :)

Next you need to figure out what you want to charge for simply putting up an autoresponder form. Maybe $100 or how about $400 one time charge….sign them up for an Aweber account with your affiliate link…..or put them on your own account. Up to you how you want to configure your offline marketing business model.

I guarantee you get more business from them regarding their website because you are now the local internet marketing expert. Of course, you could set this up any way you want and live on the east coast and market to businesses on the West coast.

I could go on with this but let me tell you about another offline project that works.

Set up a Local Business Directory. Do some SEO and get your site on page 1 for “YourCity Businesses”

You can put up free listings of local businesses. Send an email and tell them of the business when you get their listing on page 1….tell them its free, tell them it will stay there for 10, 50 or 100 bucks a month. Whether you charge for the listing or give it to them free, offer a complete web package…with autoresponder.

I can tell you from first hand experience that the “Mentor” doesn’t know his ass from a hole in the ground and I certainly hope he didn’t charge you for his advice because this works. WordPress brings excellent results, and Xsitepro sites are just as good if not better when developing directories….but you really need to know how to use Xsitepro and all it features.

The bottom line is, any method or platform you use when contacting an offline customer can be used to build and expance your business model. Whether you start pounding on doors selling autoresponders or start by developing some sort of local directory…use them as a funnel to bring your prospect and customer into more development, adding monthly or yearly charges. Provide outstanding value and you will have customers and friends for life!!

Hope this helps

Xsitepro Business Directory Template Stats for First 2 Weeks

August 4, 2009 by
Filed under Xsitepro Business Directory Template

Here’s a quick look at the traffic to the Best of Mchenry Local Business Directory. To refresh your memory, I’m working on an Xsitepro Business Directory Template that can be use to create Local Offline Business Portals or Templates. The Best of Mchenry site was uploaded on July 18th, 2009. Take a look at the screen shot for July 28th to August 4th.

One thing to consider is that this site is brand new. There are only 5 local businesses from Mchenry, Illinois. I have a couple of blog posts going to the site, I submitted a RSS feed to some RSS directories and that’s it. No articles, no press release, no real program for backlinks. It’s important for you to realize that I haven’t put a big effort into building back links or any other traffic method……. because, Xsitepro does an excellent job of attracting search engine spiders and getting pages indexed! I need to mention this because I constantly see ill informed people saying that Xsitepro is just another website editor and if you really want traffic you should start using WordPress. That statement is completely false, while wordpress is awesome for all it does, it does not negate the strenghts and abilites of Xsitepro.

One of the big benefits of Xsitepro is that it uses templates, a system like Xsitepro Business Directory Template allows even the new user to simply use the template, fill in some content, save and upload. The google sitemaps and rss feeds are automatically updated. You can ping some of the services and you’ll start getting traffic. To prove the point check out the screen shot of the traffic stats….like I said, I didn’t do anything since I set the site up. You won’t see that kind of traffic or activity from a site made with Dreamweaver or any other html editor.

Xsitepro Business Directory Pulls Postion 1 and 2 on Google for “hardwood flooring mchenry”

Once again I’m working with the Xsitepro Business Directory Template on a live site at http://www.bestofmchenry.com. The time line puts me at the end of a 2 week period after the site was up.

Two of the businesses on the site are flooring companies and both happen to do hardwood floors. I used Google to search for hardwood flooring mchenry and the below screenshot gives you the result.

Much to my excitement the 2 businesses in www.BestofMchenry.com are in postion 1 and 2 on Google search results….and this is only after 2 weeks. Keep in mind, this could have happened much sooner, I really don’t know because I was very sick after putting the site up and didn’t pay much attention to it during the first 2 weeks.

So to recap. We have a Local Business Directory at www.BestofMchenry.com that has 6 local businesses, 2 of which are flooring companies.

When searching “hardwood flooring mchenry” both flooring companies have the top 2 positions in Google!

So…..you Xsitepro users, DO NOT think that WordPress is better than Xsitepro. Xsitepro gives WordPress a run for the money. These are two different forms of content mangement systems and wordpress will probably do some things better than Xsitepro, however, the reverse is true. Xsitepro is just as good if not better for greating local business portals and other content managment sites.

Not bad considering I haven’t done anything other than use Xsitepro to create a RSS file and then submitted the file to the rss directories.

This template is almost ready to go…make sure you sign up in the pre notification list and I’ll make sure you get a special pricing when it is finally released :)

Here’s a screenshot….check it out!

Xsitepro Business Directory Template …. less than 2 weeks all 31 pages indexed in Google

I’ve been doing some tests with the site I put up in July called www.BestofMchenry.com which is built with Xsitepro and the template is part of my Xsitepro Business Directory Template. Anyone who would use this template should be concerned with how it does regarding the speed of indexing by Google and how long it takes to get into the search results.

I started chronicling this new Xsitepro Offline Business Template, and you can see some of the details at this post.

Next I discussed some of the theory of the Xsitepro Business Directory Template.

I was in the hospital and been feeling like dirt…..so I haven’t been able to do much. I didn’t add any pages or do any marketing for the site, however, I was surprised to see 31 pages indexed in Google…..take a look:

Remember, these are the results simply from using Xsitepro. I created an rss feed from within Xsitepro and submitted to some rss directories. Other than that, nothing has been done to the site in 2 weeks. Next post I’ll show you some screen shots of how the pages rank in the Local Business Directory!

“Why should I use Xsitepro when WordPress can do everything better?” I see this question often, especially in the warrior forum. I’ll be the first to say that wordpress is awesome, however, there are circumstances that a static website such as one built with Xsitepro is better. I think this is the case when creating A Local Business Portal for your profit. It’s very easy to edit and gets indexed just as quick as wordpress. The built-in tools of Xsitepro allow for many of the special features of the site and give the webmaster a lot of control when it comes to optimizing each page. The Links Page is totally awesome for a business directory and I found the search engines grab these links pages first and the beauty behind Xsitepro is that you can configure the Links Pages in many different ways…….and without going into great detail, the Links Pages could be the bait that will help you draw in more clients than you can handle.

Next post I’ll give you some screen shots for the local businesses…..sneak preview…..all on page one! But don’t fool yourself, this isn’t going to happen unless you follow the strategies I will include with this template!

Here’s the 31 indexed pages.

Xsitepro Business Directory Template Gets Indexed

July 22, 2009 by
Filed under Xsitepro Business Directory Template

Here’s a followup on the new site The Best of Mchenry I set up on July 18th, 2009.

I’m working on an Xsitepro Business Directory Template and set up an example on a new domain at www.BestofMchenry.com, unfortunatly I had one of my attacks and ended up in the hospital on the 19th, 20th and 21st so today July 22, 2009 is the first time I had a chance to check out the whether or not the site was indexed.

As you can see from the screen shot Google indexed 10 of the new sites pages in 3 days. I wish I could have checked on the second day because I’ve been able to get new sites indexed in google within 24 hours and I suspect this has been indexed under 24 hours according to my web logs. That’s pretty exciting!

I constantly read about people not getting any traffic or not being able to index their sites….Xsitepro owners included. Xsitepro has some pretty awesome tools that allow you to get your sites in the search engines quickly and I’ll give you a quick run down of what I did.

First I created the site from the Xsitepro Business Directory Template and added a couple of business listings by creating some pages. Then I created an XML file for the site from within Xsitepro, this is bestofmchenry rss feed. Next I created a Google Sitemap from within Xsitepro.

I submitted the google sitemap to Google and I submitted the RSS feed to some rss directories.

The only other thing I did was to link back to www.bestofmchenry.com from this site and from new blogger blog. That’s all I did and at least 10 pages have been indexed….pretty cool huh!

Now, the next thing to do is to start submitting some articles and press releases for keywords I want my clients pages to rank for. I’ll try to document my progress, I’m limited because of health reasons but hopefully I’ll get a few more clients and get this local business directory ramped up!

Here’s the screen shot of the pages indexed by Google.

Using Xsitepro you can get any business online with a quick website. Spend more time on the site, use an offline marketing template and you can create a very functional and effective website for a brick and mortar business loaded with all the necessary offline marketing configuration. You can use this article to explain offline marketing to your client or use it to get yourself psyched!

Right now, nearly 85% of your market will search to the internet FIRST to search for your business, before they go to the phone book or dial information. If you have a small business you better pay attention because this is a huge segment of your market. Running your own small business and having exposure on the internet is so crucial due to that 85% number as well as the increasing popularity of the world wide web. There’s more people who use the internet today than ever and they access the web through their phones, computers, cameras etc so, if your site doesn’t show up when they search, you just lost a customer.

In today’s world internet access is a given with people accessing the world wide web from just above any electronic device which means when someone types in your keywords, your site pops up first. Since most people will search with Google, it is imperative that your website show up when they input your keywords in the search box. Practicing internet marketing protocols is absolutely necessary for your small business and you probably don’t understand and have no intention of understanding how to build a website, set up an Aweber Autoresponder or learn how to make your web pages attractive to the search engines. All these things probably make no sense to you but take my word for it, you really need to put them in place. Offline marketing as it is called is a marketing process you can spend years learning and it’s difficult to find good offline marketers, however, ignore offline marketing and you’ll be invisible on the internet.

Optimize your website properly and watch your profits take off along with knowing you’ve taken a giant step into the future for your business!

Since you’re not an offline marketing expert it’s really easy to get this wrong. You want a web presence so you hire a web design firm and then think you’re all done. You want a web presence so you hire a web design firm and then think you’re all done. Unfortunately, most web design firms are clueless when it comes to search engine strategies and other offline marketing strategies, so they fall short of getting you listed on Google.

Your only alternative is to find an offline consultant. Offline marketers are experts in website design along with knowing how to set up autoresonders, optimize your webpages correctly and creating website traffic. They will consider your business as unique and find out what is needed to get your business to come up in a favorable position when somebody searches for your keywords. Xsitepro is the perfect program for starting your own Web Design Business. As you grow in knowledge of xsitepro, websites and search engine optimization you will be in a better position to truly help your clients. One of the areas I focus on is Offline Marketing, which means selling your web design and internet marketing skills to brick and mortar businesses. Below you’ll find some information that will help you in your attempt to understand how Local SEO works and how you might use it to help your clients make more money!

Offline Cash Formula

If you’re interested in working with brick and mortar businesses then it will be essential to understand how Local SEO works. Local SEO can best be described as optimizing or listing your clients business so that it shows up when someone is search for something like Chiropractor in Miami.

Although local seo has been around for a couple of years, google especially has focused their efforts on how to use this method of search effectively. After all, Googles focus is on the person doing the searching….they want to satisfy the searcher. What better way to satisfy someone searching for Chiropractor in Miami than to have a map, and other local results show up specifying Chiropractors in Miami.

Now, if you are the business owner, you want to totally own Googles Local Search for your specific keywords.

A local search consists of the ‘search term’ plus a ‘geo modifier’, as in Mchenry Oak Flooring Contractor.

Local SEO is on-site and off-site optimization, which ultimately makes your website most relevant to local search queries

OK…you might be asking yourself, Why should I be so concerned about local search and local search seo?

Consider this fact taken from eMarketer, 2008….Online search influenced $471 billion worth of offline sales last year versus only $136 billion in e-commerce sales. I wonder exactly how many businesses are losing sales and income due to the fact that they can’t be found online….or worse, their competitors are listed in a place like Google Maps and not them.

Offline Marketing Facts

Using your skills as an internet marketer can put you in a position to help those with offline or brick and mortar businesses. Prove your worth to them and you could be in for a small fortune. Just make sure you do it right. Do some research and get a handle on offline possibilities.
