Using Squidoo to Market Your Xsitepro Websites

March 28, 2009 by

Why would you want to add an optin form to your squidoo lense? To Build a list? Maybe to start some hype about your Xsitepro website.

Well, its really important to expand your thinking beyond the confines of Xsitepro. There are many platforms for building and producting websites and webpages, some harder than others. Squidoo offers a free website with little effort and one of the greatest benefits of a squidoo lense is the ability to point a link back to your Xsitepro Website……and links are the holy grail of the interent.

So, while using a squidoo lense, you get a free link back to your website but you can do so much more. Today I wanted to talk a little about putting an optin form in your squidoo lense. You may or may not know, squidoo prevented you from putting an optin form on your lense….however, I’m about to show you a trick about how to get an opt-in form into you lense to take advantage of any traffic you might get there.

I know at one point in time Squidoo allowed you to paste your optin code into a lense. Then they allowed you to put your optin code into a squidoo lense using iframes. They stopped allowing both of those methods. Finally the only way to put an optin code was by creating an image of the optin box and putting that image into your squidoo lense and then linking to an off site landing page with the real optin code. Not very good for list building!

Finally there is a way to easily add your optin code to a squidoo lense using widgets. In fact, you can create a widget for just about any snippet of code including things like Amazon, Ebay and other affiliate program.

Well…I stumbled on a squidoo lense that actually tells you how to create a widget for just about any chunk of html coding….including your optin form code.

Stop over at Clearspring Tutorial and you’ll discover some tricks you can use to get a variety of html coding in your squidoo lense’s that was previously banned and from what I read, it is totally legal to use widgets for creating html or javascript optin code in your squidoo lenses.

Local SEO Targets Brick and Mortar Businesses

March 27, 2009 by
Filed under Xsitepro and Offline Marketing

Xsitepro is the perfect program for starting your own Web Design Business. As you grow in knowledge of xsitepro, websites and search engine optimization you will be in a better position to truly help your clients. One of the areas I focus on is Offline Marketing, which means selling your web design and internet marketing skills to brick and mortar businesses. Below you’ll find some information that will help you in your attempt to understand how Local SEO works and how you might use it to help your clients make more money!

Offline Cash Formula

If you’re interested in working with brick and mortar businesses then it will be essential to understand how Local SEO works. Local SEO can best be described as optimizing or listing your clients business so that it shows up when someone is search for something like Chiropractor in Miami.

Although local seo has been around for a couple of years, google especially has focused their efforts on how to use this method of search effectively. After all, Googles focus is on the person doing the searching….they want to satisfy the searcher. What better way to satisfy someone searching for Chiropractor in Miami than to have a map, and other local results show up specifying Chiropractors in Miami.

Now, if you are the business owner, you want to totally own Googles Local Search for your specific keywords.

A local search consists of the ‘search term’ plus a ‘geo modifier’, as in Mchenry Oak Flooring Contractor.

Local SEO is on-site and off-site optimization, which ultimately makes your website most relevant to local search queries

OK…you might be asking yourself, Why should I be so concerned about local search and local search seo?

Consider this fact taken from eMarketer, 2008….Online search influenced $471 billion worth of offline sales last year versus only $136 billion in e-commerce sales. I wonder exactly how many businesses are losing sales and income due to the fact that they can’t be found online….or worse, their competitors are listed in a place like Google Maps and not them.

Offline Marketing Facts

Using your skills as an internet marketer can put you in a position to help those with offline or brick and mortar businesses. Prove your worth to them and you could be in for a small fortune. Just make sure you do it right. Do some research and get a handle on offline possibilities.

Creating Custom Xsitepro Templates for that Custom Website Look

March 27, 2009 by

Xsitepro can be confusing to the newbie and you find yourself asking all kinds of questions. Especially questions dealing with xsitepro templates.

How do I create a new xsitepro template?

What or how do I make the xsitepro template?

Do I have to know how to use photoshop to make an xsitepro template?

I just finished putting together a Dog Xsitepro Template and thought I’d see how I could share it with some of my fellow Xsitepro users. In fact if you find yourself here, please click on Xsitepro Dog Template and have one on me :) Below is a question I answered about xsitepro templates in one of the forums I visit.

One method of designing and developing a website is by creating an image of the desired website and then using a program like photoshop to “slice” the image into sections which are then used to build your actual website.

The same concept holds true to Xsitepro. Anyone with a knowledge of photoshop and understanding of how to slice images for importation into Xsitepro can create a website which is unique and looks exactly the way they want it to.

Bascially, you can use just about any template as an Xsitepro website template if you know how to create the template. Xsitepro comes with many standard templates, and I must say the templates that come with Version 2 look a whole lot better than those that came with Version 1.

Here’s a template I designed from scratch.

Free Xsitepro Dog Template

As you can see, the webpage or template has rounded corners….8 rounded corners to be exact :)

The site was put together entirely with Xsitepro Version 2

The template was custom created by me :)

So…your statement above about Xsitepro not using their own program is probably false, they just used a custom template to build their website.

Using the standard provided templates are great for adsense sites. Quick product sites and even doing a quick site for an offline client.

In my opinion you’d want to use a custom template to brand yourself and create your own look, if the website is your business or some sort of authority site you plan on spending a lot of time on.

Hope that helps!

Scott
